Fabrication Shop Foreman

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead daily operations in our client's fabrication shop. This role oversees welders, fitters, and helpers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable leading teams while keeping production on schedule.

Pay: $40–$45/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00am start

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead fabrication shop personnel, including welders, fitters, and helpers

• Assign daily work, monitor progress, and ensure production schedules are met

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications

• Ensure quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship expectations are met

• Coordinate material usage, tooling, and equipment availability

• Inspect completed work and approve readiness for the next production stage

• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement corrective actions

• Train, mentor, and evaluate shop employees

• Communicate with engineering, project management, and quality teams

• Maintain production, labor, and workflow documentation

• Promote housekeeping, organization, and 5S practices

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication or welding

• At least 2 years of supervisory or lead experience

• Strong working knowledge of welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW)

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings

• Experience with structural steel, pipe, or industrial fabrication

• Familiarity with fabrication equipment, tooling, and shop workflows

• High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)

Maybe You Have

• AWS or WABO welding certifications

• Knowledge of AWS codes and standards

• OSHA safety training or certification

• Rigger, overhead crane, or forklift operation experience

• Millwright or mechanical background

Work Environment
This position is based in a fabrication shop with exposure to noise, heat, sparks, and heavy equipment. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. PPE and strict adherence to safety procedures are required at all times.
