Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking Integration Mechanical Technicians/Millwrights for a 12-week project with a heavy industrial manufacturing client in Vancouver, WA. Some work will also be performed in North Portland, OR. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined professionals with experience in industrial assembly, pipefitting, shipyard, or heavy fabrication environments. Technicians will assist with the mechanical integration of a large marine structure, installing, assembling, and testing mechanical systems while working alongside an experienced integration team. This is an exciting role supporting an emerging organization in renewable energy technology.

 

Pay: $35.00-$50.00/hr DOE

Project Duration: Approximately 12 weeks

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

  • Overtime and weekend work expected

  • Up to 7 days per week during peak integration periods, especially in September

 

Integration Mechanical Technician/Millwright Responsibilities:

  • Install structural hardware including hatches, doors, catwalks, gratings, brackets, and support structures.

  • Torque fasteners and bolted connections to specification using proper torque sequences.

  • Assist with rigging, positioning, and installation of large pressure vessels, tanks, and other heavy mechanical assemblies.

  • Install piping systems, tubing, valves, expansion joints, and ballast components using flanged and Victaulic connections.

  • Mount and connect sensors, cameras, lighting, and other instrumentation while routing, securing, and labeling cable runs.

  • Install cable trays, raceways, glands, and pass-through systems.

  • Install marine hardware including mooring equipment, tow connections, and cable and hose assemblies.

  • Support crane operations using slings, tag lines, and hand signals.

  • Perform mechanical inspections including torque verification, leak testing support, pressure testing assistance, valve checks, and mechanical checkout activities.

  • Read mechanical drawings, specifications, and digital work instructions to complete assigned tasks.

  • Stage materials, tools, and equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Work safely in confined spaces, on aerial lifts, scaffolding, and other elevated work platforms.

 

Integration Mechanical Technician/Millwright Qualifications:

  • Experience performing skilled mechanical assembly or millwright work in an industrial, manufacturing, shipyard, or heavy fabrication environment.

  • Ability to torque fasteners and bolted joints to specification using torque wrenches.

  • Experience reading mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Comfortable following digital work instructions using a tablet.

  • Experience routing and securing cabling and mounting sensors or instrumentation.

  • Proficient with common hand and power tools.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift, move, and position mechanical components safely.

  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rigging and crane support experience.

  • Pipefitting experience with flanged or Victaulic piping systems.

  • Previous marine, shipyard, or heavy fabrication experience.
