Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for a skilled Industrial Sandblaster to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on preparing surfaces to precise standards using sandblasting equipment in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Pay: $25–$30/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (5:00 AM–1:30 PM)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and clean surfaces by applying the correct blasting standards (SP-1 through SP-15).

  • Operate and maintain blast pots, dust collectors, and related sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment before and after use.

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report or repair as needed.

  • Keep the blast booth and work area organized, clean, and compliant with inspection standards.

  • Track job details accurately — including piece counts and time spent per task.

  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew to stay aligned on project goals.

  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements; report hazards immediately.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for efficiency and safety.

 

What You Bring

  • Proven hands-on experience in industrial sandblasting or surface preparation (no degree required).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify or fix equipment issues.

  • Skilled in using and maintaining blasting tools and air systems.

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-driven work habits.

  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and dusty, noisy environments.

  • Must provide your own basic hand tools (wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.).

  • Must be 18 or older and able to pass pre-employment screening.

 

Maybe You Have:

  • Experience with industrial coatings or surface finishing.

  • Familiarity with blasting standards SP-1 through SP-15.

  • Knowledge of Air Quality Department inspection requirements.

  • A knack for improving efficiency in prep or cleanup processes.

 

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial blasting facility in Phoenix, AZ. Work involves exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment. PPE is required at all times.
