Electronics Assembler

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for an Electronics Assembler for a client that focuses on renewable energy prototypes. This position is a contract- temporary position that will have a 3-6 months duration. This is an exciting opportunity to work on brand-new technology in the renewable energy space!

PAY: $25-$35/hr

Electronics Assembler Responsibilities:

• Using soldering irons and heat guns for PCB soldering, desoldering, and rework of both surface mount & thru hole components.

• Soldering under a microscope.

• Using solder paste & reflow oven.

• Using screws, nuts, etc. to attach mechanical components like heatsinks onto circuit boards; work must be done in a clean, static-safe environment. Loctite will be applied to certain screws.

• Assembling wiring harnesses, cutting wires, crimping ring terminals or ferrules, soldering connector pins to solder cups, applying heat-shrink, and tug-testing of a variety of cables and wire harnesses.

• Applying thermal paste to bolted assembly interfaces.

• Following Work checklists and assembly drawings.

• Inspection of the quality of the work performed by others & self.

• Cleaning flux, dirt, and dust off of mechanical components and electrical PCBs.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Electronics Assembler Qualifications:

• Have significant (3+ years) hands-on experience building, modifying, printed circuit board and mechanical assemblies.

• Have experience fabricating cable assemblies

• Have experience with thermal paste application

• Have the ability to follow work instructions with precision

• Have strong knowledge of tools and equipment used in electronics fabrication and testing (soldering iron, reflow oven, hot air rework station, optical microscope, common hand tools, digital multimeter)

• Have knowledge of electrostatic discharge (ESD) best practices

• Have a strong attention to detail

• Work and communicate well with others

• Lift 50lbs regularly and stand for eight hour shifts
